TRCCS RENEWSICAL: A Musical About Renewable Energy
When: March 25th at 1 pm and March 26th at 6 pm
Where: Jensen Community Center: 487 N. Main Street, Amherst Wisconsin
The Renewsical is an interactive stage performance that teaches the technology of energy efficiency, sustainability & renewable energy in order to inspire action toward a healthy economy, cleaner environment, and a brighter future. The play has been adapted for the students at TRCCS by play write Ed Lemar. Ed has been an artist in residence at TRCCS over the past 3 weeks preparing the children in grades 1st through 6th for the show! The performance uses dancing, music, costumes, poetry and puppetry to convey the benefits of solar and wind power, alternative transportation, healthy natural systems, and healthy local food. Please join us for the show it is free and open to the public, invite your friends and families. Refreshments and interaction with the performers will take place after both shows. If you would like to bring a backed good for the reception at either show it would be greatly appreciated! Drinks will be provided. We are also looking for volunteers, give us a call.
Grades Students (1st through 6th): Parents we invite you to attend one or both shows. Students can be picked up at the Jensen Center after the performance on Wednesday March 25th, regular pick up time at 2:45 should be perfect. If students normally take the bus to Amherst they will walk over to the Amherst Elementary school at 3:05 to catch their ride or connecting bus. Those students that normally take the Point bus will be picked up at the Jensen Center and brought to Point as normal. Please have your child wear clothing they can play outside in to school on Wednesday for rehearsal and recess. They will need to bring dark clothing (black preferable) to change into for the performance. Please check with your child to find out if there are any props or costumes they should bring for the performance/rehearsals. On Thursday night children need to arrive by 5 pm to prepare for the performance, again have them dress in dark clothing and costumes and props if necessary. (Costumes and props can be left at the Jensen Center if they are sent to school on Monday for rehearsal.) Please let us know if you have any questions!
Early Childhood Students: All students in Kindergarten and W/F Prekindergarten will be at the show on Wednesday March 25th at 1 pm. Students can be picked up at the Jensen Center after the show or regular pick up time: 2:45 pm. The Point bus will bring students from the Jensen Center to Point as normal and those students that go to the District will be walked over there at 3:15 pm for pick up or to catch their connecting bus. If your child is in T/Th Prekindergarten we encourage you to bring them to either performance. Early Childhood children have made decorations for the show!
